BB&M is pleased to announce its representation of Haevan Lee, a contemporary artist based between Korea and the Netherlands. Lee’s practice engages with the geopolitical landscapes of borders and buffer zones, as well as the ideological residues inscribed upon contested physical spaces. Through painting, installation, and video, she investigates divided territories and sites marked by conflict, summoning these locations into imagined realms through sustained pictorial and spatial research. Drawing upon an ongoing research into place, history, and the remnants of war, Lee transforms landscapes charged with tension and collision into immersive visual and spatial environments.

Lee holds a BFA in Oriental Painting from Sungkyunkwan University and an MA in Artistic Research from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. Her major solo exhibitions include Kumho Museum of Art (Seoul, 2025), Insa Art Space (Seoul, 2024), Bradwolff Projects (Amsterdam, 2024), Gallery Lux (Seoul, 2020), and Peace Culture Bunker (Seoul, 2018). Selected group exhibitions include Museum Arnhem, (Netherlands, 2025), G Gallery (Seoul, 2025), Stroom Den Haag (Netherlands, 2024), and Bangkok Biennial (2020), among others. This September, she will take up a residency at Delfina Foundation, London.

BB&M looks forward to bringing sustained critical attention to Lee's practice and to the new conversations her work invites within the international contemporary art landscape.
