Sikyung Sung takes part in MINDBOOM 2026: Magical Thinking, a Korea-China international collaborative exhibition held at the Songzhuang Contemporary Art Archive (SCAA) in Beijing.
Featuring 16 artists representing Korea and China, the exhibition sheds light on “Magical Thinking” — the way human beings understand and interpret the world through memory, sensation, and language.
Sung presents four abstract paintings, including Standing Note (2023), where unpredictable brushstrokes and formative rhythms suggest a mode of perception beyond rational logic. His paintings resonate closely with the exhibition's central theme of how humans form relationships with the world and construct meaning.
