New Humans: Memories of the Future | New Museum, New York

March 21, 2026 – Ongoing

Lee Bul’s Cyborg W7 (2000) is featured in New Humans: Memories of the Future, an exhibition inaugurating the New Museum’s expanded building.

Drawing together works by Pierre Huyghe, Hito Steyerl, and Wangechi Mutu alongside twentieth-century artists and cultural figures such as H.R. Giger, El Lissitzky, and Constant Nieuwenhuys, the exhibition reflects on artists’ enduring engagement with what it means to be human amid sweeping social and technological change. Tracing new conceptions of humanity and new visions for its possible futures, it unfolds through imagined forms ranging from robots and cyborgs to posthuman worlds.
