2월 23일 (목) 오후 7시, BB&M의 두 번째 Happy Hour는 끊임없는 종언 속에서도 언제나 다시 부활하는 ‘회화’에 대해 다룹니다. 글로벌 아트 마켓은 이제 국내 미술계, 특히 2020년대 한국 동시대 회화에 직접적인 여파를 줄 것으로 예상됩니다. 이런 변화는 과연 국내 젊은 회화작가들에게도 긍정적으로 작용될 수 있을까요?
이번 시간에는 런던의 저명한 미술 비평가 Waldemar Januszczak의 The Times 기사 “Painting is back — is conceptual art doomed?” 를 출발점으로 동시대 회화의 흐름과 국내 회화씬의 현재를 살펴봅니다.

BB&M Happy Hour는 미술계 현안에 대한 다양한 시각과 견해를 자유롭게 펼쳐보는 자리로 BB&M이 운영하는 비정기적 토크 프로그램입니다.
The second BB&M Happy Hour focuses on painting, a medium that always comes back to life despite perennial declarations of its death. Taking as its starting point Waldemar Januszczak’s article for The Times titled “Painting is back – is conceptual art doomed?” we’ll look at how the most recent resurgence of painting in the global art world impacts the domestic art scene and the practices of its younger artists, in particular painters, as the Korean art world increasingly emerges as a major regional hub for the flow of international contemporary art.
The second BB&M Happy Hour takes place on February 23, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It features a panel including Hyejung Jang (Doosan Gallery, Seoul), Sunghui Lee (HITE Collection, Seoul) and is moderated by Goeun Song (BB&M).
