Heecheon Kim’s “Sleigh Ride Chill” is currently being shown in “WORLDBUILDING: Gaming and Art in the Digital Age,” a group exhibition curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Julia Stoschek Collection.
“Sleigh Ride Chill features filmed and computer-generated imagery, with each narrative given a distinct aesthetic. Kim’s unnerving collective portrait is not so much driven by worldbuilding or futuristic notions; instead his stated aim is to express the entanglement between physical and virtual realms and reflect on the mechanics of human perception within media ecologies based on his experience of a current moment.”
