A major survey of Lee Bul, widely regarded as the leading Korean artist of her generation, opens at Leeum Museum of Art on September 4.
Lee Bul’s experimental practice spans performance, sculpture, installation, and painting, exploring complex relationships and power dynamics between humanity, society, technology, and civilization.
Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now, brings together her early works from Cyborg and Anagram, series, as well as key pieces from Mon grand récit, Willing To Be Vulnerable, and Perdu. The presentation is accompanied by drawings, maquettes, and recent sculptures that highlight the artist’s continuing examination of utopian modernity, and humanity’s aspirations and failures.
Co-organized by Leeum Museum of Art and M+, Hong Kong, the exhibition opens at Leeum and continues onto M+ in March 2026, before travelling to to major international institutions through fall 2027.
