BB&M is pleased to present Under the Skin, a solo presentation by the internationally acclaimed Korean artist Minouk Lim, at the inaugural Art Basel Qatar. Lim’s work has been shown throughout the world and is part of the collections of such museums as Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, LACMA, and SFMOMA. Examining the fault lines of memory and myth in the formation of non-Western modernity, the presentation brings into focus the visual elements and conceptual currents that have long permeated her work: cosmology, mystical and spiritual iconography, vestiges of nature, and the detritus of civilization.
